The Wayward Bus (1957)

Reviews

By Frank Ferruccio "author" (new jersey)

This is by my opinion Jayne Mansfield's best acting in a film. She plays an ex-stripper trying to make an honest life for herself, and while on her journey to Mexico falls in love with Dan Dailey. She wears nothing revealing or flattering to her figure, and this is one of the few movies she uses her actual voice, not the dumb blonde coo and squeal voice. Joan Collins is the same age as Mansfield, but is playing a character at least ten years older. She doesnt wear any make-up and looks horrible through most of the film as a bus stop owning alcoholic-shrew, married to beautiful Rick Jason. It is very well acted by all, with an honest 1950's approach to John Steinbeck's Tawdry story. When it becomes available, dont think twice, Just buy it!! You wont be disappointed!
